Your suggested route
The times below are suggested allowances, not live opening hours or transport schedules. Adjust the order for your arrival time, bookings and conditions.
Day 1 · Morning · Wulingyuan orientation
Start from a base convenient to Wulingyuan and confirm the entrance and ticket coverage. Use the operating shuttle and lift or cable-car route appropriate to your plan. Allow transfer and queue time before the first viewpoint; the park is not a single compact walking circuit.
Day 1 · Afternoon · Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain
Prioritise Yuanjiajie’s pillar views and add Tianzi Mountain only if the transport connections and daylight allow. Have a proper lunch break. A guide can help sequence the route; do not judge the day by the number of platforms photographed.
Day 2 · Morning · Golden Whip Stream
Choose a comfortable section of the Golden Whip Stream route, turning around or exiting according to a clear transport plan. Allow two to three hours with pauses. This lower-level perspective provides a useful contrast to the elevated viewpoints without requiring another summit day.
Day 2 · Afternoon · Rest and change base if useful
Have lunch, then choose a short additional park section or rest. If visiting Tianmen Mountain tomorrow, consider moving towards Zhangjiajie city and confirm the ticket’s start point. Keep luggage transfers separate from your morning walk.
Day 3 · Tianmen Mountain
Follow the specific Tianmen route and entry slot you booked, allowing most of the day for transport, queues and walking. Choose permitted paths that suit your comfort with heights. Glass sections are optional where alternatives exist; confirm the route before buying if you want to avoid them.
Departure · Protect your connection
Leave a generous margin after the mountain visit for luggage and onward transport. If your departure is early, add a night or omit Tianmen. The Grand Canyon Glass Bridge is another separate attraction, not automatically included in either park ticket.
