TRAVEL RESOURCES

The tools I actually use when I travel.

01

Mobile data

Airalo

I like having maps and booking details ready when I land. Airalo keeps the data side simple; I check the coverage and activation rules before choosing a plan.

Use ANDYPANEL for 10% off. Valid until 30 June 2027.

Your phone needs to support eSIMs and be network-unlocked.

02

Hotels

Trip.com

I use Trip.com to compare places to stay, then check the map properly. Being near the places I want to explore matters more to me than a hotel that just looks good in photos.

Tours & tickets

Klook

I use Klook for tickets and activities I want to sort out before the trip. I check what’s included and the entry time so the booking fits the day.

Try APANEL at checkout.

Eligible bookings only; any discount appears before payment. Flights and gift cards are excluded.

Viator

I use Viator to compare tours when I’d rather leave the day’s logistics to someone else. I look at the meeting point, group size and cancellation terms before booking.

Camera & travel gear

Phone tripod

I use a phone tripod when I want to take a moment to frame the shot or get into the photo myself. I keep it out of walkways and check local photography rules.

Power bank

Maps, photos and booking details all compete for my phone battery. I pack a power bank for longer days out and check my airline’s rules before flying.

Packable daypack

I like leaving the suitcase at the hotel and taking just what I need for the day. A packable daypack keeps the little essentials together.

Payments in China

Alipay

I like getting payments sorted before arriving in China, so there’s one less thing to work out on the first day. Register with your mobile number, then open Me → Bank Cards to add an eligible international card.

WeChat / Weixin Pay

I’d set up WeChat Pay as well, so there’s another payment option ready to go. In WeChat, open Me → Services → Wallet → Bank Cards and follow the prompts to link an eligible card.

Complete any identity checks requested in the apps, keep access to your verification texts, and check card eligibility and fees before paying. Carry a backup payment option. These are official information links, not affiliate links.
