Your suggested route

The times below are suggested allowances, not live opening hours or transport schedules. Adjust the order for your arrival time, bookings and conditions.

  1. Day 1 · Arrival · Settle on Phi Phi Don

Arrive by an appropriate ferry or boat connection and check into accommodation. Have lunch before exploring the compact town and waterfront. Keep the first afternoon light, especially if the crossing has been tiring, and confirm the next day’s boat arrangements.

  2. Day 1 · Late afternoon · Viewpoint or beach

Choose the signed viewpoint walk if the heat, steps and daylight suit, allowing 90 minutes with pauses. Otherwise enjoy a permitted beach area near your accommodation. Return before the route becomes difficult to follow and have an unhurried dinner.

  3. Day 2 · Morning · A permitted island route

Join a properly equipped boat trip with a clear route and suitable conditions. Discuss which stops are actually open: Maya Bay has seasonal conservation closures and should not be promised. Choose a few substantial scenery or snorkelling stops rather than the longest advertised checklist.

  4. Day 2 · Afternoon · Lunch and a buffer

Return for lunch, collect luggage and leave a comfortable margin before your onward boat. If the excursion occupies most of the day, add another night instead of depending on a tight connection. Keep swimming and shore access within the crew’s current guidance.

Where to pause for food

Eat a proper meal on arrival and confirm whether the excursion includes lunch and water. Carry a small snack in secure packaging. Choose dinner by current menu and location rather than walking across the island for a single crowded venue.

Getting around

Coordinate accommodation with the arrival pier and any additional local boat transfer. Boats are weather-dependent, so avoid connecting an island excursion directly to an international flight. This two-day plan may need an extra night depending on arrival and tour times.

For a shorter day or different weather

If seas are unsuitable, use Phi Phi Don for a slow land-based day. Replace closed Maya Bay access with a permitted route agreed with the operator. Avoid wildlife-feeding stops and treat a viewpoint climb as optional rather than essential.

Before you go

Confirm seasonal park closures, fees, route changes and cancellation terms. Current operator notices describe an August–September 2026 Maya Bay closure; check the park’s actual arrangements for your travel dates. Do not assume every beach allows swimming.
