Your suggested route
The times below are suggested allowances, not live opening hours or transport schedules. Adjust the order for your arrival time, bookings and conditions.
Day 1 · Morning · Reach the mountain base
Travel to Emeishan and continue to your accommodation near the lower mountain. Leave luggage and have lunch before sightseeing. Confirm the difference between the railway arrival point, visitor transport hub and hotel; they are not one interchangeable location.
Day 1 · Afternoon · Lower temple visit
Choose Baoguo Temple or another currently accessible lower-mountain temple, allowing around two hours with a quiet walk. Use the afternoon to understand the Buddhist setting and confirm tomorrow’s transport. A long mountain hike is a different itinerary from this introductory stay.
Day 1 · Evening · Prepare for the upper mountain
Eat near your accommodation and organise layers, water and a small day bag. Ask about the first practical scenic bus and cable-car arrangements. Staying at the base means a different morning from staying high on the mountain; do not promise summit sunrise from every hotel.
Day 2 · Morning · Golden Summit route
Use the authorised scenic transport towards Leidongping and the operating onward walking and cable-car route. Allow a substantial morning for transfers and queues. Walk slowly at the higher elevation and enjoy the religious architecture even if cloud obscures the distant panorama.
Day 2 · Afternoon · Descend with time
Have a simple meal at an available permitted venue and begin the return with a generous margin. Keep the last bus and cable-car times visible in your plan. Collect luggage only after allowing for the full descent and road transfer.
