Cedar Creek Falls: choose the right base

1. First · Resolve the name

   Several Queensland locations are called Cedar Creek Falls. This recommendation uses the Tamborine National Park site; it does not establish that Andy’s historical photo was taken there. Check the full place name and map pin before booking transport. If your intended falls are near Airlie Beach, do not use these directions.

2. Morning · Tamborine lookout

   When open, start at the Cedar Creek day-use area and take the short track to the lookout. Queensland Parks describes a 500-metre return lookout walk. Allow 30–45 minutes to enjoy the gorge rather than treating the published walking time as the entire visit.

3. Optional · Rock-pool track

   Only continue if the rock-pool track is open and suitable for your group. The official description includes many steps and an uphill return; the lookout-only visit is a valid choice. Current alerts have covered storm damage in this park, so a map showing a path is not proof it is accessible today.

4. Lunch · Tamborine Mountain

   Finish with lunch in the Tamborine Mountain area and a village stroll. Keep this as a half-day nature-and-food outing. Add another rainforest walk only after checking its separate status and your remaining time, rather than assuming every park section is open together.
