Your suggested route
The times below are suggested allowances, not live opening hours or transport schedules. Adjust the order for your arrival time, bookings and conditions.
Morning · Wat Mahathat
Arrive from Bangkok and meet your pre-arranged local transport. Start at Wat Mahathat for about an hour, taking time to understand the ruins rather than concentrating only on the Buddha head among roots. Follow the site’s respectful photography guidance.
Late morning · Wat Phra Si Sanphet
Continue to Wat Phra Si Sanphet and allow another hour for the former royal-temple setting. Two substantial sites are enough before lunch. Pause in shade and avoid climbing ruins for a better camera angle.
Lunch · River or town restaurant
Choose a seated restaurant with a clear menu and take a proper break from the heat. Boat noodles are one option; river prawns can be a larger meal if prices are clear. Refill water before the afternoon stop.
Afternoon · Wat Chaiwatthanaram
Visit Wat Chaiwatthanaram across the river for a contrasting temple layout and riverside setting. Allow 60–90 minutes, then return to your departure point with a buffer. Stay later for softer light only if your transport is arranged accordingly.
